Dr. Barinder, Tony, Athwal attended McGill University in Canada and received his Medical Degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a three-year Ophthalmology residency in 1986 at UMDNJ- New Jersey Medical School, where he had the distinction of being appointed the Chief Resident. In 1986, he started his private practice in Toms River. He also teaches as a clinical instructor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in the Department of Ophthalmology and is on the Medical Staff at Community Medical Center, Toms River, New Jersey. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Athwal serves on the board of the Ocean Eye Surgery Center and ClearVision Laser Center, and is a member of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Ocean County Medical Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
